A poet was born

You smiled and said “Thank you!”
And all my worries were gone…
Our eyes met, they were meant to,
And thus, a poet was born.
My mind told me “it is just a fallacy”,
But my heart told me to go on.
I just pictured us being together,
That is when a poet was born.
The picture was too vague, too obscure,
But I craved for you somewhere deep down.
This craving became acute with time
No wonder a poet was born!
I kept asking myself “Is he the one?”
“If he left you, would you ever mourn?”
The very thought of it made me tremble.
In that moment, a poet was born.
I longed for you every moment by then
From one dawn to another dawn.
Time was slowly crawling by
With which, a poet was born
‘My words would fail me’, I had this feeling.
“What if it all goes wrong!”
But I had to tell you, anyhow.
And for that, a poet was born.
I finally put my words to test
And waited eagerly for you to reckon.
My mind went numb, I doubted myself
If at all, a poet was born!
“I waited for this moment,
I waited too bad and for too long…”
You embraced me saying this, and I was sure
For you, this poet was born!!!
